Establishing a healthy relationship with our child/ren is beneficial from birth and beyond. 5. Being the shoulder, the lap and sometimes extending tough love out of love. 6. When children are young they are on our hearts and as they grow they stay on our mind. 7. Every home is structured differently; some are one or two parent homes. Others have extended support from family/friends to assist with raring the child/ren and or have outside role models that empower productivity. Some of us are filled with self-doubt, struggle with reversing the cycle and justify poor behavior. Well did Reverend Joseph Jones shed light and give us a burst of reality, when he said; “there’s no room for excuses.” Reverend Jones shared many examples of triumph, giving not to receive and community action. He touched on his involvement with the DA’s office and various programs he birthed and indeed were successful. He also spoke heavily about the importance of diversity, maintaining the family structure, believing in a Higher Power and lending a helping hand to those who are in need. In addition, Reverend Jones reminded us that history repeats itself with just a bit more push the next time around. There’s nothing we can’t do if we want it bad enough. Stay focused be encouraged and commit to putting in the work. Vincent has also gathered members to pack and ship out up to five thousand schools supplies/backpacks across the five boroughs. Minister Walker expressed his dedication to the people in and outside of the ministry to bring people together. He uses his testimony to exemplify that living an honest, productive life is possible even after once living on the Edge. In addition, he believes that ministry doesn’t only occur within the confines of the church but outside in the communities, streets, as well as, within the five boroughs and beyond. On August 9,2017; Questions, Answers & Solutions was the epitome of what Building Safer Communities stands for ; Adapt, Survive, Rebuild & Thrive. These three gentlemen heroically discussed their medical related diagnoses without hesitation, shame or quilt. We embarked on diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, forms of cancer, as well as, PTSD. As some of know, the aforementioned runs rampant in families of color. We live in such a fast paced society that at times we forget about annual doctor’s visits, semiannual dental follow ups, eating healthy, exercise as well as taking time out to enjoy life. Knowing your family history when it relates to medical, mental health and substance abuse plays an essential role in living a healthier lifestyle. It’s a fact that stress attacks the weakest part of body, is an unreported #1 killer, and also contributes to medical, mental health and substance abuse issues. We can all learn from others experiences whether good, not so good or indifferent and make better choices. Thank you to Leon, Mark & Tim for sharing their stories. Thank you to the call ins DeDe & Gina, the viewers, supporters, Todd Taylor, Tarek Anderson and F.L.O Empire Radio for adding to our value.

Each artist engages us with their work differently and is able to convey the message behind the work. Art is a form of expression. It can be viewed as a silent expression and or a display of freedom of opinion with the use of visuals, colors, words shapes, etc. The artist whether via paintings, sculptures or tattoos is attached to each piece and displays a touch of uniqueness in each display. Art expands the mind and serves as a productive outlet/release that’s received by many as well as respected. On June 6, 2017; Questions, Answers & Solutions was impacting, resourceful & powerful. I welcomed to separate segments. The first segment with Gina Humber & the second with Trish Van Buren accompanied by Dwayne Mayo. It’s essential to understand that we as people are evolving and should embrace the idea of positive change. Diversity can be a challenging discussion, especially when some express the need for People of color to buy into terms such as; support unity and empowerment. There’s work to do and as Gina said, “there’s no room for excuses.” In addition, owning your own business isn’t enough. We need to learn the tools necessary to maintain a clientele committed to the service and or good in order to be financially stable. It’s equally important to learn the many facets of starting your own business, the definition of each entity as well as capturing the need of the community with your service and or good. Thank you to all the supporters, viewers, call ins, the three aforementioned guest speakers, Todd Taylor, Tarek Anderson and floempireradio.com for making this possible.
